MKARS is delighted to announce that the Club's 2010 rally will be held at Bletchley Park, home of Britain's code breakers during Word War II and soon to be the site of the RSGB's new National Centre for Amateur Radio.
With a beautiful park and stunning museum for visitors to enjoy, this super rally location means you can bring along the family and enjoy a fabulous day out, as well as picking up some great bargains at the MKARS rally. There's also GB2BP, our resident special event station which will be operational throughout the event. So put this super new rally in your diary - you'll be sorry if you miss it!

FOUR METRE NIGHT
Monday's (8.2.10) "Four Metre Night" attracted a good crowd and a great collection of radios and other kit. The band has a growing following, both locally and further afield. The lack of commercially made quipment makes the band more experimental than other VHF bands, with the use of homebrew and converted PMR radios especially popular. Thanks to everyone who bought their 4m kit in to add to the display. de 2E0VPX

RAYNET AT MKARS
Monday 25th January saw the club play host to Don Kirkwood G3YQO who gave a talk on the role of RAYNET in the region. Don is the Region 6 co-ordinator for RAYNET and his talk covered the organisation's role in the community and it's liaison with the various services during emergencies. With the recent flooding, the ice and snow problems within the British Isles and other disasters worldwide, ham radio operators have proved to be the ommunications link when all else fails.
