Club Meetings September/October 2019

The start of the September seees us make our entry into HF SSB National Field Day on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th September. This year we are trying to push the boat out, with a HF multi-band beam on a tower, together with a series of large wire antennas for the LF contest bands. We’ll be at our normal location at the Egg Farm Field in Cheddington. The location can be found here: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/51°52’43.3%22N+0°40’26.2%22W/@51.8787044,-0.6826938.  Come and help your fellow Club mmemebers with setting up on the Saturday 7th, operating and taking down on the Sunday 8th. We’ll be at the field from 9am on the Saturday.

The next formal Club meeting is on Monday 9th September with a  Grand Table Top Sale at the Irish Club, Manor Fields, starting at 19.30 sharp. Come and sell the things that you bought at the MKARS rally, but have had second thoughts, the things that you forgot to bring to the rally to sell, or other items that are now surplus.

Monday 16th September is a shack night at Bletchley Park. Come and operate, get guidance form our shack manager, or chat with your fellow Club members.

Monday 23rd September sees us back at the Irish Centre for a big club night in two halves – the first part is ‘What’s on my workbench – Getting started on Oscar100′. Come and get 5-10 minues to talk about  how you got QRV, what kit you are using and how easy was it to set up.  After a coffee break, we’ll than have a video talk from the RSGB on an overview of VHF propagation.  This is in the same series as the  talk we had earlier in the year on HF propagation and is not to be missed. Please be in your seats for 19.30.

The MKARS Construction competition at the Irish Club, Manor Fields at 19.30 sharp on Monday 7th October. The rules are in the library section of our website.

The 2019 MKARS AGM at the Irish Centre, Manor Fields on 14th October 2019. For members only, come and hear a review of the year, the introduction of a new constitution, the 2019 Club Member awards, and the election of a new Committee. Papers and agenda will go out shortly.
