Museums on the Air 25th & 26th June

This coming weekend MKARS will be running a special event station at The National Museum of Computing to help celebrate International Museums Weekends with the callsign GB2NMC. The station will be operating at the museum between 10:30am and 4:30pm on both days. We will be setting up the station from 9:30am on each day. Hopefully the weather will be kind and we will be able to operate the station outside adjacent to the museum shop, otherwise we will be in the meeting room behind the shop. We hope that many club members will come along and take the opportunity to operate the station and also help to explain to visitors about amateur radio.

We plan to be operational on 20m and 40m bands using SSB voice communication and 2m and 6m using FT8 digital modes. A third voice station will be setup to link to the QO-100 satellite.

The TNMoC are also offering discounted admission to the museum for visitors to the station, so come and enjoy some amateur radio and also spend some time looking around this fascinating museum. To get a preview of the exhibits visit www.tnmoc.org and take a 3D virtual tour to help plan your visit! The museum is located on the Bletchley Park site. See the museum website for full directions Plan your visit — The National Museum of Computing (tnmoc.org).

Looking forward to seeing club members and anyone else who is interested or wants to find out more about amateur radio at the event.
