2018 Construction Competition

Thanks to all for an excellent turn out, and a sizable number of entries for the club construction competition this week. We had a wide range of entries - everything from valve-based power supplies, to antenna switch units and ATU’s, to revamped kit-based station accessories, to QRP/digital transceivers and 23cm mast head amplifiers/pre-amplifiers and sequencing switching units.

The winning entry on the night was from Phil, G4FVZ, with his 80-10m 10W SSB/CW transceiver, with digital VOX for FT8 based on a uBITX board.

All contestants will present a little more on background to their projects later in the year.

Another good week although Thursday and Friday were pretty poor. I managed St. Helena, Uruguay, Chile, Brazil, Argentina and loads of Eu. (I even squeezed in the Dominican Republic but that was on 17m.)
